The Sox game was rained out yet again today. A double-header is scheduled for tomorrow, but the forecast this week has said rain until Thursday morning. Tim Wakefield is scheduled to pitch game 1 at 12:45 and Brad Penny will remain the pitcher for the regularly scheduled game at 7:05.
Among the update that Jed Lowrie has scheduled surgery for his injured wristand will be out until at least the All-Star break; Rocco Baldelli was recently placed on the DL; giving Jeff Bailey and Chris Carter an opportunity to step up to the big leagues and give Tito some decisions to make about who will stay and who will go back to Pawtucket.
More Celtic Woes
Leon Powe will miss the remainder of the playoffs with a torn ACL and meniscus tear. This brings Brian Scalabrine back to the lineup, who hasn't played since his concussion in February and has absolutely no playoff experience since he rode the pine last year.
With two of our biggest men out we are left with Kendrick Perkins, Glen "Big Baby" Davis, Mikki Moore and Brian Scalabrine at the forward/center position. With Perkins being our leading scorer of the bunch with 8.5 PPG, I'm starting to become very nervous as to whether or not we'll make it out of the first round against Chicago. I still hope and believe, but with each injuryI feel less and less confident.
The Shining Light
With a 3-0 series leadand the night off, the Bruins are keeping everyone satisfied overnight. Tim Thomas has been a stone wall and the team has played amazingly together as a unit. The Bruins will pick up again tomorrow night and hopefully close out the series over the Canadiens and rest up for round two.
Tidbit to mention, the NFL Draft is only four days away and I can't wait for pick #23 to roll around on the clock. Let's see what Bill does knowing that we also have pick #34 overall pick as well.
Good to keep up with what’s good in Boston. Keep the site going, clean, simple and straight to the point. That’s what we neeeeeed.
