As if his late inning heroics weren’t displayed enough against the New York Yankees, Jason Bay has begun to build his case for being the real reason why Manny Ramirez is now in Los Angeles. Bay homered against the Yankees in game 2 of their series to send it into extra innings and topped that by hitting a three run shot into left last night off Kerry Wood in Cleveland.
The game was very long with Cliff Lee and Tim Wakefield (neither earning me my guaranteed fantasy win) both going 7-8 scoreless innings. I continued watching the game hoping that at least one team could muster up a run before the bullpen came in. All for not!
MDC came in for the sox and pitched a 1-2-3 8th and looked great while doing it to bring the Sox up in the top of the ninth. With Kerry Wood on the mound I only thought of him as how nasty his stuff was in Chicago. Wood did hit 98mph on the meter a few times while watching, then Jason Bay stepped in.
Pedroia on second after being walked and Big Papi slapping a bloop to center landing himself on first. Jason Bay’s stats against Wood flashed on the screen, (2 for 13, 2HR, 6K) ouch! That meant absolutely nothing last night, Bay sent a bomb out there in left to help the Boston Red Sox beat the Cleveland Indians. For those of you with DVR or TiVo, run it back and you can see Bay as he’s leaving the batters box, mumble:
“Bartender, I’ll have a shot, Jack!”
how d you know what he’s mumbling?
I watched it in extreme slow motion. I’m just messing around April.
yea yea. now your just messing around. “i didnt watch it over and over again until i could read his lips”
Sorry April, at least you saw a good highlight over and over again.
