Josh Reddick was called up to the major league level by the Boston Red Sox last week. Josh is yet another one of the Red Sox prospects that has worked his way through the Boston farm system for his entire career starting in 2007. This season, Reddick began with the Double-A Portland Sea Dogs before being promoted to the Triple-A PawSox and more recently playing for Boston against Tampa Bay and the New York Yankees.
Scouting Report
Reddick has made an immediate impact by showing that he is not afraid to swing the bat against major league pitchers and has the ability to hit the long ball. Josh is batting .217 with one home run, two RBI's and seven K's. Reddick hasn't started off on an all-star career, but he has shown that he has the ability to compete and make plays in the outfield and at the plate at the major league level.
SoxProspects has Josh Reddick ranked as their #2 overall prospect at just 22 years old. The left handed hitter is another piece to the puzzle that Boston is looking to put into place in this years pennant race. I like what I've seen out of Josh Reddick so far, hopefully he can come in and have enough desire to make a name for himself with the Red Sox and develop into a great future talent.
Thanks to phxwebguy for the picture of Josh Reddick.
