The Washington Nationals, with the first overall pick in the MLB draft for the second straight year chose Bryce Harper with this years No. 1 draft choice. Bryce Harper, the High School player to hit the 502-foot home run at Tropicana Field in Tampa, Florida isn't going to spend too much time waiting to play in the outfield for the Nats.
This 17 year old is expected to be one of the most prominent power hitters in the game in a very short time. Although the Nationals claim they're not going to rush Harper into the bigs and place too much pressure on him, I'm sure he'd be a great addition to their lineup very soon.
Bryce Harper and Stephen Strasburg
The Nationals could very well become a big time contender very soon if they continue to add great young talents, especially after seeing what rookie pitcher, Stephen Strasburg showed in his major league debut. Strasburg pitched 7 innings with 2 ER, 14 K and 0 BB, all on 94 pitches. How's that for a major league debut?!
Thanks to afagen for the photo of Bryce Harper on the jumbotron at Nationals Park.
