There is not much to say at a time like this. In a week where the Yankees, a team that I can't stand, has lost two major legacies to their franchise I can only say one thing to Yankee fans across the world: I'm sorry. You all know his stats, you know what he did for baseball by breaking through, being the first owner to take a chance spending the most on the best players. George Steinbrenner will always be remembered as one of, if not, the greatest owner in MLB history.
I am not going to drag on and on about Mr. Steinbrenner as it's not something necessary. The man did everything there was to do in baseball and worked hard to do it all. This is beyond a rivalry, beyond teams and beyond baseball. I would again like to send my condolences to the Yankee fans for these two major loses this week. I'm very sorry.
