Last night while I was out with Rob and Dan from Boston's Super Blog, we got talking about the Red Sox choice of Pedro MArtinez to throw the opening pitch of the 2010 season. As you recall, Pedro made a late return to the Philadelphia Phillies last season in their late playoff run. As much as Pedro may have declined from the 90's, could this be a prelude of things to come with Beckett and Dice-K on and off the DL all season, giving Pedro an opportunity to come back and listen to the fans chant his name in another playoff run?
Thanks to Mark Sardella for the picture of Pedro Martinez at the Boston Red Sox 2010 Opening Day Ceremony.
I would gladly welcome Pedro back. He’d make a killer addition to the bullpen.
He’d be a great start for Game 3 of an ALDS if Beckett and/or Matsuzaka were unable to go in games 2 or 3.
