This months poll questions asked the fans whether or not the Boston Red Sox needed to add another hitter to their line-up before the trade deadline. The results are in and you have overwhelmingly decided that the Red Sox do in fact need that power hitter inserted into the line-up, moving forward.
Do The Boston Red Sox Need To Add A Power Hitter To Their Line-Up
- Yes (62%, 40 Votes)
- No (38%, 25 Votes)
Total Voters: 65
Even after acquiring Adam LaRoche from the Pittsburgh Pirates, the voters did not change their opinion. With the trade deadline looming at about three hours away, the only hope for those who voted yes is the talks of a three team trade that would send Victor Martinez to Boston, while possible getting Adam LaRoche packed before his week in a Red Sox uniform is over.
Thanks to scart for the picture of Victor Martinez.
The deal went through and the Red Sox acquired Victor Martinez today by giving up Justin Masterson (who I’ll miss) and a few other pitching prospects. We also received first baseman Kasey Kotchman from the third team involved, Atlanta Braves by sending them Adam LaRoche (who seemed to be a good fit).
The bat everyone asked for is now here and will hopefully do what we all expect of V-Mart and his abilities. I assume Kotchman is going to play the role that Mark Kotsay played while he was here or he will be DFA’d. Can’t wait to see this plan go into action.
