With baseball season potentially over for most fans here in Boston, the question arises, if not the Red Sox, who will win the 2009 World Series?

Los Angeles Dodgers
With Manny Ramirez as an added bat, the Dodger came out of the gate fast this season and ended the regular season with the best record in the National League (95-67), giving themselves home field advantage for the NL post season. The Dodgers swept Albert Pujols and a great one-two punch of starting pitchers in the NLDS and are going up against the defending champion Phillies for the NLCS next week.
Philadelphia Phillies
As mentioned, the Phillies are still the champions until someone can take them down. The Phillies had some troubles against the Colorado Rockies but managed to win in four games. Do they still have enough left to go the distance?
New York Yankees
I hate the Yankees, but they finished the regular season with the best overall record in baseball (103-59) and have home field advantage throughout the World Series if they can make it past the Angels. The most highly paid team in the league has struggled in the playoffs for the past decade and with the addition of some great starting pitchers, they may very well have the best chance at winning it all this year by not having to face Boston in the ALCS.
Los Angeles Angels
The dark horse of the post season that took out the Red Sox in three straight games. I'm not quite sure they can stop New York as fast as they stopped Boston, but they could make a run on one hell of a high if they do make it past the Yankees as well.
Thanks to egvvnd for the picture of the World Series trophy.
Go Yankees!!
I would have to say the Angels, and the way they beat up on the Red Sox… (no offense,) They show how good they “really” are. Please stop by my mlblog and comment. : )
Dodgers.
I think they’ll actually win, and their the team I’ll be pulling for, I lived in LA for a year and the Dodgers have the longest championship drought out of the four. But, I’ll be happy if anyone but the Yankees wins.
I’m pulling for the Dodgers too. Not having anything to do with their lack of championships, but solely for the purpose of piggybacking Manny Ramirez.
I think the Yankees will go #2 in their pants when they see Manny in the dugout across from them after the ALCS. It will be a total mind game in itself.
I would like to say Angels in all honestly.
Yanks/Halos will be a great series. Abreu back in NY and I think he has some unfinished business to take care of. The Angels have the memory of a fallen brother behind them puching them toward the trophy. I think they can honestly take out the Yanks in 6 or 7 games. Then again, I thought the Sox would beat them in 5 on 4SportBoston.com… oh well.
Lets just hope its not Dodgers/Angels so everyone outside of LA can care too.
I am really looking forward to Pedro pitching to Manny in the meantime.
Go Angels. Your the best.
You better beat the Yankees, i really hate the yankees, they don’t deserve to play the Philadelphia Phillies.
Phillies you don’t have a chance once you face the Angels, you better watch out with the pitcher Lackey, He will make you look bad.
GO ANGELS YOU DESERVE THIS WORLD SERIES. ITS BEEN TOO LONG FOR YOU SINCE 2002. IT IS YOUR TURN TO MAKE PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES LOOK HORRIBLE. BEST OF THE ANGELS.
PHILLIES ALL THE WAY!!!!!!
