Yesterday afternoon, the New England Patriots cut outside linebacker Adalius Thomas. Thomas signed a large contract with New England and did nothing short than stealing money from our pockets all while having a seat on the bench for the later half of the season. Adalius was a common conversation every weekend as to whether or not he would play and how he would perform if he did.

Most talks are that Adalius will end up with former defensive coordinator Rex Ryan and the New York Football Jets. More likely than not, I also believe that Thomas will end up there, playing in a similar system to what they used in Baltimore as well as having former teammate Bart Scott there to keep him in line and on edge. I must say that I'm happy to see Thomas get cut from the team, but don't want to see him end up playing for a division rival that's already got the odds stacked against us.
This does however give our draft picks, Brandon Spikes and Jermaine Cunningham, both of Florida to have an opportunity to step in and start alongside Jerod Mayo. I believe Spikes has the talent and the ability to compete at the NFL level, being given the opportunity, let's see what he has to offer.
Thanks to patriotworld for the photo of Adalius Thomas.
I think adalius is ready to win a championship…he knew where to sign.
Good riddance to bad rubbish. Jets won’t sign him, they don’t need him and he’s washed up. Wouldn’t be surprised if he bounces around for a bit before getting picked up by a team. If I was an NFL GM I’d have huge doubts about a “great” linebacker who one of the best defensive teams of the past decade couldn’t get anything out of.
