NFL Divisional Predictions 2010

Old, battered football lies in the grass.

We're back for Round 2 of the NFL playoffs. My New England Patriots got their butts whupped last week and so did all of us, as we each went 1-3 with out picks. Still, for now, there's always next week, so without further ado, let's get to the predictions.

Jim Gaudet, the IT & SEO Super Hero, joins us again this week. If you'd like to join our predictions panel, send an email to us (via this contact form at The 42nd Estate, the one here is temporarily offline).

Last weeks games were great, definitely better than my predictions (1 and 3) I am going 4 and 0 this week!

This game is going to be a great way to start off the week. Expect to see a ton of offense and maybe one special teams or defensive touchdown to seal the deal. I think Warner will show up again, but the defense is not going to be able to handle the Saints after only 5 days rest.

Saints over Cardinals 38-31

The Ravens running game could win it if they have another huge night, but I just don't see them stopping Manning. If the Colts can get a few stops on defense and get PM on the field, they win.

Colts over Ravens 24-21

The Cowboys have looked great in their last 3 games, especially their defense. So long as the D can keep Peterson in check, my only correct pick from last week; Dallas takes it to the next round...

Cowboys over Vikings 27-24

Okay, everyone is taking the Chargers which instantly makes me want to take the Jets, but that is not why. I know that the Chargers have had their rest and the Jets will be traveling to the west coast, but I still think they can win this. The Chargers are 20th against the run allowing 4.5 YPC and if the Jet's can keep that average they will win this.

Highly considered blinding picking the winners this week, as random chance would give me a better record, but where's the fun in that?

The Saints worry me. They barely stumbled across the finish line to end the season, and nearly lost the top seed in the NFC. Still, the playoffs are a fresh start so we should throw out the regular season, right? Right. That's why I'm going with the Cardinals, who have more playoff experience than the Saints and will want to win at least one more game for ol' Kurt.

Cardinals over Saints 17-14

The Colts are demoralized. You can feel it in the way they talk, in the way they play, and you'll feel it in this game as the Colts get whupped. Back in week 3 of the regular season I picked the Ravens to get to the AFC Championship game and I'm sticking with that prediction.

Ravens over Colts 42-14

Initially I was going to go with the Cowboys, but my gut tells me that Brett Favre is not going to let this team go none and done. This game will go back and forth with tons of lead changes but in last few seconds Favre will toss a TD to put the Vikings up by one.

Vikings over Cowboys 35-34

Chargers are on a roll, they'll keep that streak going against the Jets, who are over-performing and are due to for a letdown. With the Colts knocked out the day before, the Jets will lose that extra bit of motivation to beat the Colts, again, and we'll see the San Diego Super Chargers moving on.

Chargers over Jets 24-17

Kurt Warner is too old to have another perfect game and the Saints have an unstoppable offense.

Saints over Cardinals 27-17

The Ravens can't win if they can't pass against the Colts and they won't be able to pass in this one. Colts haven't given me a reason to go against them yet.

Colts over Ravens 34-17

Brett Favre, Brett Favre, Brett Favre.

Vikings over Cowboys 21-14

Jets defense is the key to the game.

Way to pick that Bolts-Jets score Josh.

At least I didn’t go 0-4!

Congrats on the winning records this week Josh & Jim.
