The New England Patriots threw up an ungodly 59 points to the Titans zero last Sunday. I could hear the peanut gallery from miles away:
Tom Brady's back to his 2007 form.
No one can stop us.
Even Laurence Maroney is running hard and hitting the hole now.
I must admit, 5 touchdown passes in one quarter is a feat and Tom Brady deserves to be the record holder for doing that. Look at the situation though. Brady threw 5 TD passes against a banged up worst secondary in the NFL at home in the snow. It is a great accomplishment, but that's an inflated number.
Jeff Fisher Is A Champion
I was also very excited this weekend when we tore the Titans a new one. Even more excited to see Jeff Fisher step to the podium Wednesday afternoon wearing a Peyton Manning jersey saying that, "He wanted to feel like a winner". I find humiliation by the head coach one of the most successful manners of inspiration. If that doesn't get players pissed, they probably shouldn't be playing in the NFL, or they'll be 0-7 after their bye week.
Laurence Maroney; Still Soft
Laurence Maroney was running hard, he didn't dance much and had a great game. Again, the snow. Let's see what he can prove this weekend against one of the worst rushing defenses in the league in London when he's getting the bulk of the workload. I still think Maroney's soft, but he can make me change that around if he can prove it on a regular field surface, even against the Buccaneers.
Thanks to Patriotworld for the picture of snowy Foxboro.
