The Boston Bruins have showed that They Want It after taking a 3-0 series lead over the Habs in the first round of the 2009 NHL Playoffs. The Bruins look unstoppable so far while riding Tim Thomas through the series. I haven't been this excited about hockey since I was a junior in high school. My class took a trip to Montreal, Quebec and visited a nice little place we like to call Peel's Pub. Being a rowdy group of underage drinkers in Montreal while the Bruins were visiting the Habs we couldn't help but be ignorant and loud bringing the chant of "Let's go Bruins" all the way from The Garden.
It wasn't very settling at the time but watching the Bruins get shellacked while being in Montreal made me nauseous (or maybe it was the alcohol). That wasn't the last time the infamous pub saw from us. The following year we again visited Peel's under the same circumstances. Watching the Habs destroy us again from the same seats, surrounded by the same people only made for a worse feeling in the end (or again, the massive consumption may have had something to do with it).
The feeling this year has changed due to the series lead the Bruins have taken, making me foresee the sweep coming on. Not to mention the complete lack of alcohol consumption makes my stomach feel a lot better after the Bruins win game after game.
Game 4 of the series will be played in Montreal on Wednesday night at 7pm and hopefully conclude around 9pm and give the B's a nice rest until Round 2. I remember calling Bruins in 5 when the series began. It would be nice to win the series at The Garden, but a four game sweep, whether home or away would taste so much sweeter.
Thanks to rubyswoon for the picture of Tim Thomas.
